Living Beyond Breast Cancer values its volunteers and the success of the organization depends on a network of volunteers serving in a variety of roles. We strive to create satisfaction and enjoyment from your volunteer experience. This Volunteer Agreement has been established by LBBC to help fulfill the mission and support the vision and goals of the organization. This policy shall apply to all LBBC volunteers.
Volunteer Expectations
- Align with LBBC’s mission; respect and honor diverse backgrounds, experiences and opinions.
- Serve as a positive representative of LBBC by conducting yourself in an informed, appropriate and professional manner.
- Commit to work in the best interest of the organization.
- Treat all individuals with a sense of dignity and respect. Avoid using profane and abusive language and engaging in disruptive behavior toward the people LBBC serves or hopes to serve, other volunteers and LBBC staff, whether in person, on social media, or through other communication platforms.
- Will not share confidential information. Volunteers are asked to maintain the confidentiality of information to which they are exposed while serving as a volunteer.
- Only commit to an assignment when you can truly participate to the best of your ability and for assignments that you are physically and emotionally able to complete.
- Inform LBBC staff in a timely manner if your situation has changed and you are no longer able to complete your volunteer assignment.
- Prepare for and actively participate in your volunteer assignment.
- Accept direction from LBBC staff to fulfill your volunteer assignment.
- Report all issues and concerns to an LBBC staff member.
I recognize that I have a responsibility to adhere to the rules and procedures of the organization. Failure to do so or failure to satisfactorily perform my volunteer assignment may lead to dismissal. LBBC has the right to decline my involvement in future volunteer activities.
The staff at Living Beyond Breast Cancer believes our volunteers are an integral part of our organization. We strive to create a partnership with our volunteers to support and manage individuals to achieve the best possible outcome by providing adequate training, materials and staff support to the volunteer.
LBBC reserves the right to amend its expectations as the organization deems necessary.
